Want Your Shoulders To Stop Hurting? Try the Dolphin Push-Up

To build unstoppable shoulders, you must swallow one hard truth. Isolating this joint is not enough to bulletproof it. You must also address the muscles and joints of the midback and scapular region. This will allow you to optimize your upper body mobility and stability in a way that protects all of the tissues involved.

One of my favorite methods for improving scapular control is the dolphin push-up. It works wonders for strengthening supportive muscles of the shoulder blade and mid-back including the infamous serratus anterior that gets so frequently neglected. If you can introduce this movement to your routine, your shoulders will be far more strong, stable, and pain-free. Who doesn’t want that!?
