One of the most common yet overlooked causes of back pain is hip instability. We tend to direct all of our attention toward injured or painful tissues and forget just how connected the body is. This results in neglected hips and other muscles up and down the kinetic chain that play a key role in back health. This doesn’t mean you have to tirelessly develop every muscle and joint of the body, however. Even a couple of intentional exercises can start to turn your pain and discomfort into strength and functionality.

Today I want to introduce one movement that will upgrade your hip stability by a huge margin. Not only that, but it can help to boost ankle and knee health, along with thoracic mobility and overall balance.
