Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither will your mobility or flexibility. The biggest mistake I see clients make is having a ‘zero to one-hundred’ mindset around stretching. Either you practice yoga for 2 hours a day, or you don’t stretch at all. For most individuals, practicing like a professional yogi isn’t all that realistic…and that’s okay.

What we must remember is that mobility, flexibility, and even strength gains can occur within the smallest windows of time. As long as we’re exposing the body to new and progressive stimuli over time, it doesn’t really matter what that looks like within the context of your daily life. Sure, you’ll find great success by going to the gym 5 days a week, but you can also attain real results by reserving 5 minutes out of your morning to move.

Both look very different, but both will build momentum and keep you mobile and functional. This momentum can be a game-changer for both your physical and mental health. These small pockets of time have kept me sane when I don’t have the capacity or time for anything else and the same goes for many of my clients. The human body was made to move!
