While it may sound ridiculous, a wall is one of the best tools out there for becoming more mobile and flexible. If you know how to use it correctly, it will open up the door to hundreds of unique stretches and exercises that can help to rehab old injuries and prevent new ones.

As a kinesiologist and trainer, I’ve spent countless hours working with clients using nothing but a wall. Why? It’s accessible and makes mobility training make sense. Something about using it to guide your range of motion adds a level of intuition that will help even the most untrained and uncoordinated individuals feel more mobile in days. Whether you’re in the living room or at the office, this clever tool will always deliver great gains in health and fitness.

Amidst the many wall-based movements that I’ve prescribed to clients, I want to cover the five that I keep returning to time and time again. These are both incredibly simple and impressively effective at improving full-body mobility and stability. As long as you have a bit of free wall space, you have everything you need to start feeling like a new and improved version of yourself!

Let’s dive right in.
