The One Crucial Stretch That Everyone Gets Wrong
This small tweak can make or break your back health!
Throughout my years as a kinesiologist and personal trainer, there is one stretch that I constantly see clients doing wrong. While you may think that being a little off on one exercise isn’t a big deal, this one yields great power. Your ability to safely get into position and control this exercise will play a huge role in overall leg strength, mobility, and dare I say, pain-free living.
If you haven’t been able to guess what this mysterious exercise is, I’m talking about the kneeling hip flexor stretch. While you may not have tried it yourself, I’ll bet you’ve seen it. This is a common stretch done throughout yoga classes, personal training sessions, and those youtube videos we were all following during the pandemic. While it can be a valuable exercise if done correctly, we’ve built a few bad habits without even knowing it. What’s worse, many personal trainers often view this as the right way to do things, causing many people to lose control of their hips and fall into back pain.
Today it’s time to end this trend and learn how to stretch the hip flexors like they were supposed to be stretched. You’ll never look back once you make these small tweaks to unlock your hip and back health!
