The Best Core Exercise You’re Not Doing
This dead bug variation is mind-blowingly hard!
Some of the greatest exercises out there are the ones sitting right under our noses. While they’re very accessible, most people aren’t willing to stray from the beaten path to try new variations. As a trainer and kinesiologist, I see this all the time with the dead bug exercise. While the ‘antagonist’ to the bird dog is a fantastic movement in its own right, there are many great modifications out there that we aren’t giving enough time in the spotlight.
Today I want to introduce one particular exercise that is far too underrated and underutilized among athletes and patients alike. While it’s a close relative to the dead bug, it ousts its predecessor in almost every category imaginable. Not only is it great for coordination and hip flexor strengthening, but will fire up your core in a way that very few exercises can.
