That one made the list from more of a 'this is overrated' than 'please don't do it' point of view. Based on my experience, many people view this exercise as the holy grail. It's as if you've 'made it' if you can do a certain amount of unassisted reps. In reality, it's just another exercise that does a decent job at coordinating & strengthening the lats, biceps, delts, core, etc... There are many more fish in the sea that will be more appropriate and safe for clients, especially if they are in rehabilitation mode or are newer to fitness (most of who I see).
If you're experienced or are using the right regression tools, this exercise has its benefits for sure. If you personally enjoy this exercise, please keep doing it! I also throw them into my regime occasionally.
