There may be some benefits to having assistant with stretching, but it should also be accompanied by strength/mobility exercises if you want the best results. If someone else is doing the work, it may feel good...but your likely not improving the strength of your muscles, mobility/stability of your joints, etc... If this stretching session makes you feel better, however, keep on doing it! Just consider adding more variety to your treatment/activity.
Massage guns can be an effective way to warm up before a workout or to find temporarily pain relief. That's about how wide their scope of effect is, however.
