Love your comment. There's absolutely nothing wrong with treating this as a whole-body exercise. I could've definitely been clearer with the lens I was looking at. This is simply an article to help people make adjustments if they're looking for more core activation. In retrospect, the title should've absolutely been tweaked to something like... "There is more than one version of the plank, both are good, but one isolates the core more. This is what to do if you're looking for that."
