If you’re stepping into the gym for the first time or you’re looking to finally get into home workouts, core training can be intimidating. Working with a vast variety of clients as a kinesiologist, I’ve seen many individuals steer clear of core work because they fear they’ll get injured, they’re not fit enough, or they don’t look like the type that should be doing it. If you can relate to any of these fears or doubts, don’t fret.

We can all partake in core training in one form or another. It’s all about starting with the foundations and finding what works for your body and fitness needs.
While I’ve shared a lot of my insights on more specialized or advanced routines in the past, I wanted to take a moment to focus on those who may be taking that vulnerable first step of attempting core work for the first time but don’t know where to start. This is also dedicated to anyone who’s suffered a serious injury and has been cleared for activity but is feeling hesitant about exercising again.
