No matter how advanced health and medical technology gets, we’re wired to react to health problems. It’s connected to our intrinsic desire to stay in a state of physiological equilibrium. What we often fail to do, however, is act on warning signs before they become too serious. We spend all our time and energy rehabbing instead of focusing on the easier task of prevention.

This is where the beautiful term, prehab comes into play.

Rehab = foundational movements focused on gradually stabilizing and strengthening tissues to heal an injury

Prehab = slightly more advanced exercises focused on strengthening tissues beyond day-to-day tasks to prevent any injury risks moving forward

As a seasoned kinesiologist and trainer, I can confidently say that the concept of prehab has the potential to change the landscape of your health and that of the healthcare system. Sadly, it’s so scarcely utilized that it’s practically unknown.
