The wrists are one of the most overlooked areas of the body. Admit it, when was the last time you thought to take 5 minutes to work on this joint? We forget it even exists until pain or injuries strike. Then we’re left completely stranded as we try to navigate workouts and daily tasks with comprised form and debilitating discomfort.

It’s frustrating, but it’s oh-so preventable.

I’ve learned the hard way that strengthening the wrists is crucial for a strong upper body and maximum function in everyday life. Being an avid skateboarder for years, I managed to fracture one of my carpal (hand) bones on two different occasions. For a long time, I was left compensating in many corners of my life as my joints weren’t strong enough to handle the stress I was putting on them.

It wasn’t until I found out how powerful physical therapy can be that I started to gradually build up the confidence and tensile strength to achieve pain-free workouts once again.
