Did you know that the glute group includes the largest muscle in the human body? This trio of muscles (glute maximus, medius, and minimus) plays key roles in hip extension, rotation, and overall pelvic stability. I’d argue that it’s one of the major areas we should be focusing on for injury prevention and overall physical performance. Whether you’re looking to develop this region for functional or aesthetic-based reasons, rest assured that it’s easy to do practically anywhere!

As a kinesiologist, one of my favorite roles is eliminating barriers between non-gym goers and functional exercise. You don’t need a gym pass to gain major strength and endurance in these tissues. In as little as five minutes, you can begin preventing complications around the hips and lower back by going through these reps. While this takes consistent work over weeks and months, you’ll never regret the effort you put in once you realize just how powerful these simple exercises can be. On that note, let’s jump right in!
