Many rotator cuff injuries can be improved with the simplest of movements. Even using a towel or band can do wonders on your path to recovery. One of the biggest mistakes we make in health and fitness is overcomplicating physical rehab. We pour into every study, buy all of the new gadgets, and consequently, get overwhelmed by the process.

The main principles of physical rehabilitation are very simple. You want to be moving your joints/tissues through a pain-free range of motion at the first possible moment. Additionally, you need to aim for loading up with resistance as soon as it’s viable. If your exercise prescription is relevant, well-timed, and safe, you’ll be well on your way to recovery.

While I don’t want to be undermining the importance of health professionals, I do believe we forget just how much control and influence we can have in our own recovery. You can do so much good for your body without dropping a dime or leaving your front door!
