If you want less shoulder pain and restriction, think outside the box and develop these tissues through band work. Not only can this help to eliminate injuries, but your stability and strength will improve by leaps and bounds. While this may sound tricky if you’ve never used bands before, it’s quite simple if you’ve got the right equipment and exercises to support your health journey.

Today I want to introduce a short routine that can do all of this and more. It takes less than 5 minutes and requires nothing but a loop band. Doing this simple routine once per day can be the difference between painful injuries and flawless function. Even if you don’t have any shoulder complications at the moment, prehab work is never a bad idea to ensure your rotator cuff stays well-oiled for years to come!

Band Your Way to Stronger Shoulders

The rotator cuff is a group of 4 muscles and their associated tendons that span the shoulder joint. These muscles are the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, and subscapularis. The rotator cuff is extremely vital to dynamic shoulder joint stability, as they are the only muscles that directly span the glenohumeral joint.
