If you’re experiencing consistent pain just under the hip where the thigh meets the glutes, you may be dealing with hamstring tendinopathy. This is where the attachment point of the hamstrings at the pelvis becomes painful and irritated. This injury is common among runners and sprinters, along with those doing lots of cutting and quick change of direction movements in their sports.

Now that you’re familiar with what hamstring tendinopathy is, how do we go about healing it? Well, the evidence tells us that performing a gradual strengthening progression can be efficacious in building up tissue tolerance and decreasing pain signals. To help you achieve this, I want to introduce three hamstring-based strength exercises you can do in your home.
