The key to rehabbing your stiff, painful shoulders is to give them just the right amount of challenge. One clever way to personalize this to your current strength levels and condition is to use resistance bands you can manipulate to control resistance. While the banded movements below may look simple, they accomplish one powerful thing that many free-weight movements neglect: they challenge stabilizers like your rotator cuff muscles to ensure the shoulders are balanced in all directions.

Whether you’re struggling with a limited range of motion or you can’t seem to shake the dull pain you feel in your shoulder, I want to offer a simple solution in the form of three banded exercises. These are movements I’ve been giving to my clients for years and I’m confident they’re one of the fastest ways to improve all facets of this joint’s health.
